PERMANENTLY AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Piedmont Triad Community Land Trust is creating a new path to affordable homeownership in Greensboro and beyond, helping residents own a home, build equity, and remain rooted in their communities.

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY LAND TRUST?

Affordable, always.

A community land trust (CLT) is a nonprofit that owns land on behalf of its community and sells the houses on that land at an affordable price to income-qualified residents. Homebuyers own the home and lease the land from the CLT, all within a supportive network of staff and community members. At resale, the house is again sold at an affordable price to income-qualified residents, with the seller benefiting from appreciation. It’s a shared-equity housing model that has been proven across the country for decades.

WHO WE ARE:

By and for our community, always.

The Piedmont Triad CLT continues the work of many Greensboro neighborhoods to preserve homes for residents into perpetuity. Our Advisory Committee includes representatives of these neighborhoods as well as housing advocates and CLT practitioners.
